An official website launched on Thursday to announce that Phantom Busters, the manga by Neoshoco, is receiving a television anime adaptation slated to air in 2027. Neoshoco also drew a commemorative illustration to mark the occasion.
Story
Straight-A student Eugene Korekishi doesn’t believe in ghosts — but his classmate Mogari Shishikuno is an exorcist with a very unusual method: he swallows them whole. The catch is that Mogari can’t see ghosts on his own. When the two encounter someone who can, there’s only one logical next step — founding an exorcist club at school and launching a high school life that’s anything but ordinary.
As the club searches for a fourth member, Mogari, Eugene, and new recruit Kaoru Kanzaki set their sights on classmate Kotaro Tamon, who appears to have the ability to communicate with ghosts. The problem? Kotaro has serious trouble communicating with the living. Can he overcome his anxiety and join the Phantom Busters?

Neoshoco launched the manga in Jump SQ. in 2023. Shueisha released the seventh compiled volume on February 4 and will publish the eighth volume on October 2.
Viz Media released the English fourth volume on July 7 and will release the fifth volume on October 6. The manga is also available digitally in English via Viz Media’s Shonen Jump app and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service.
The series has surpassed 1.4 million copies in circulation, including digital editions.
