Anime studio MAPPA has dropped a second trailer for Season 3 of its new Ranma 1/2 anime, based on Rumiko Takahashi‘s beloved manga. The trailer was unveiled during the MAPPA 15th Anniversary Lineup Reveal livestream.
Staff and Cast
Kōnosuke Uda — known for the One Piece: Dead End film and DAYS — returns as director. The third season largely retains the cast and crew from previous seasons.
Returning chief animation directors Yoshiko Saitō and Kōsuke Kawamura are joined by two new additions: Riko Kaneda, who served as animation director on the first season, and Haruki Miura, whose credits include Ensemble Stars! and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean.
Masahiro Kurio also returns as main animator, now alongside Atsuko Ishida — a key animator on the original 1989 Ranma ½ TV series — and Yoshihiro Takeda, known for The Devil Is a Part-Timer! Seasons 2 and 3.
Broadcast and Streaming
Season 3 is scheduled to air on NTV in October and will stream exclusively on Netflix.
Previous Seasons
The first season of the new anime premiered across Japan in October 2024, with Kimiko Ueno (Delicious in Dungeon, Astro Note) handling series scripts and Hiromi Taniguchi (Kurage no Shokudō) on character design. It streamed on Netflix following its television broadcast.
Season 2 launched on October 4 on NTV, with most of the Season 1 staff returning. Notable additions included Kōsuke Kawamura as a chief animation director and Ryūta Hayashi joining Chihiro Ōkawa to direct the art.
