Even as Subaru lashed out and called himself a hopeless wreck, Emilia held steady. She said softly: “My name is Emilia. Just Emilia. There’s so much we need to say, so much we need to hear. But right now, just one thing — please, tell me your name.”

The moment mirrored their very first meeting in Season 1, but in reverse — back then, Subaru had asked for her name; now she was asking for his, to bring him back to himself.

Subaru’s answer left fans in tears:

“My name is Natsuki Subaru. Entrusted by Julius, believed in by Beatrice, forgiven by Echidna, and wished for by Emilia — if that man’s name is Natsuki Subaru, then I am Natsuki Subaru.”
