The staff behind the television anime adaptation of Ryō Ariyama‘s light novel series Romelia War Chronicle: Even After Defeating the Demon King, Humanity Still Seems Doomed, So I Formed a Military Force (Romelia Senki: Maō o Taoshita Ato mo Jinrui Yabasō Dakara Guntai Soshiki Shita) released a new promotional video on Saturday, revealing the series’ theme songs and confirming its premiere date.
Theme Songs
The opening theme is “Akatsuki ni Naru” (Daybreak Resounds), performed by Chogakusei. The ending theme is “Nightfall feat. Maika Loubté,” composed by Kohta Yamamoto, who also serves as the anime’s overall music composer.
Broadcast & Streaming Schedule
The anime will make its streaming debut in Japan on October 3 at 9:00 p.m. via U-NEXT, Anime Times, and Netflix. It will then begin its television broadcast run on October 5 at 11:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, BS11, and Sun TV, followed by KBS Kyoto later that same night. Crunchyroll will simulcast the series internationally. The anime is planned for two cours.

About the Source Material
Ariyama originally published the story as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2019 before it was picked up for print publication under Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko imprint. The series has surpassed 550,000 copies in circulation and concluded with its sixth volume in November 2025. Kodama illustrated the first volume, while Ryō Kamito handled illustrations for volumes 2–6.
A manga adaptation drawn by Ryō Kamito has been running on Mag Garden’s Mag Comi platform since January 2022. Seven Seas Entertainment holds the English license for the manga, with volume 3 released on August 11.
Story Synopsis
After accompanying her fiancé on his quest to defeat the Demon King, Romelia is abruptly declared useless and sent home — her engagement annulled. While the prince and his companions return to a hero’s welcome, Rome arrives back in disgrace. But she is not the same girl who left. Without magic or physical strength, she quietly honed her talents in trade, negotiation, finance, and intelligence gathering. Now she intends to put those skills to work — rebuilding her family’s struggling province and shoring up a kingdom that remains in danger. The Demon King may be gone, but his allies and roaming demons are not. Armed with nothing but her wits and brilliance, Rome will forge her own army and protect the kingdom — no matter the cost.
