The TV anime SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 2 has been officially confirmed for a January 2027 broadcast (Winter cour). Alongside the announcement, a teaser visual and teaser PV have been unveiled, offering the first look at the new story arc.

The teaser visual depicts Sakamoto and Shin standing back-to-back as they prepare to infiltrate the JCC. Sakamoto holds a ballpoint pen — the weapon he was randomly assigned in the JCC entrance exam’s first round — while Shin sports a new pair of gloves on his right hand, hinting at the fierce battles ahead.

The teaser PV shows Sakamoto disguised as a student teacher, taking on the appearance of his wife Aoi, while Shin attends classes as a regular student to gather intelligence inside the JCC. Returning characters from Season 1 appear alongside several new faces: Amane, a model student who despises the assassin’s guild; Satoda, a former instructor who once trained Sakamoto; and Yotsumura, a mysterious man connected to the founding of ORDER.

Season 2 will be directed by Nakashima Daisuke, with Watanabe Masaki returning as chief director and Kishimoto Taku handling series composition. Moriyama Hirone returns for character design, Hayashi Yuki for music, and TMS Entertainment continues as the animation studio.

Toya Kikunosuke (Amane)

My first impression was that Amane is an incredibly straightforward kid who deeply cares about his friends and family. At the same time, the intensity of his feelings gives him a certain recklessness. Every recording session has been a blast — I laugh, I get chills — please look forward to Amane’s appearance!

Watanabe Misa (Satoda Etsuko)

This is the kind of role I feel I became a voice actress to play. At first I imagined Satoda as somewhat imposing and cool, but when I learned how deeply kind she is to her students, I reworked my approach entirely. The scene where she tears up watching the young people train so earnestly is particularly memorable to me.

Fuji Masahide (Yotsumura)

Yotsumura is a man who rarely shows emotion — “nihilistic” feels like the right word. But the more I played him, the more I confirmed that there is real love inside him. I’ll give it everything I have.

Director Nakashima Daisuke

It’s a great honour to be entrusted with such a beloved Jump title. I intend to capture every bit of the stylish action and individual philosophy of the assassins that Suzuki-sensei has crafted. Inheriting the baton from Season 1, I’m pouring my passion into conveying the charm, momentum, and grand spectacle of the source material. Please look forward to it!
