Ahead of its October 16, 2026 theatrical release in Japan, the anime film Seishun Buta Yarou wa Dear Friend no Yume wo Minai — the concluding chapter of the Rascal Does Not Dream series — has unveiled an opening scene clip and a brand-new Finale Visual illustrated by original character designer Mizoguchi Keiji.
Opening Scene Clip
The clip, released via Aniplex’s official YouTube channel, shows Azusagawa Sakuta and Akagi Ikumi meeting up in Yokohama. The city is abuzz with the news that Sakurajima Mai has come out as the singer “Kirishima Touko.” As Sakuta looks on, visions of Mai appear before him — as an elementary schooler in a randoseru backpack, as a middle schooler, and in her iconic bunny girl outfit.
