The anime film Seishun Buta Yarou wa Dear Friend no Yume wo Minai has revealed its week-one attendee gift ahead of its theatrical release.
Week-One Gift: A Brand-New Novel
Audiences who attend during the film’s opening week will receive an original short novel titled Seishun Buta Yarou wa Tea Garden no Yume wo Miru, written exclusively for this occasion by series creator Kamoshida Hajime. The story follows Azusagawa Sakuta, Mai, and Shoko as they make their way to a certain destination. The cover illustration has been drawn specially by original character designer Mizoguchi Keiji.
The Conclusion of the “Aobuta” Saga
The film is set to open in Japan on October 16, 2026, serving as the grand finale of the Seishun Buta Yarou — popularly known as “Aobuta” — franchise. The story promises to finally unravel the mystery of “Adolescence Syndrome,” the bizarre phenomenon that has driven the series’ events across both the high school and university arcs.
