The production team behind Sekiro: No Defeat — the new anime film based on FromSoftware’s acclaimed game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice — released an official battle scene clip on Friday, offering fans their first look at the film’s action sequences.
Crunchyroll Streaming in 2026
Crunchyroll will exclusively stream the anime worldwide in 2026, excluding Japan, China, Korea, Russia, and Belarus. The film also screened out of competition at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

In August 2025, the production team issued an official statement confirming that no AI was used at any stage of the anime’s production.
About Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and published by Activision, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a third-person action-adventure game set in a reimagined late-1500s Sengoku Japan. Players take on the role of the “one-armed wolf,” a disgraced warrior brought back from the brink of death, on a mission to rescue his young lord master and take revenge on his nemesis. The game launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in March 2019, selling over 2 million copies worldwide in under 10 days.
