TV anime Shio Taiou no Sato-san ga Ore ni dake Amai has been confirmed for an October broadcast. Alongside the announcement, the production revealed a new batch of cast members, the first key visual, and a character PV.

About the Series

Based on the light novel by Saruwatari Kazami published under Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko imprint, with original character designs by Achiki, the series is a youth romantic comedy centered on a “mutual unrequited love.” Oshio Sota, a part-time café worker, finds himself drawn to Sato Koharu — a girl rumored to be cold and indifferent to everyone around her. When Sota discovers that Koharu’s aloofness stems from shyness rather than disinterest, the two begin to grow closer.

Joining previously announced leads Ishibashi Hisae (Oshio Sota) and Ito Miku (Sato Koharu), six new cast members have been revealed:

• Tomita Miyu as Sudo Rinka, Koharu’s cousin and a third-year middle school student
• Kobayashi Chiaki as Misono Ren, Sota’s classmate and best friend
• Aoyama Yoshino as Misono Shizuku, Ren’s older sister and a university student
• Kanemoto Hisako as Nezu Mayo, Shizuku’s close friend at the same university
• Matsumoto Yasunori as Oshio Seizaemon, Sota’s father and owner of cafe tutuji
• Wakai Yuki as Murasaki Madoka, a second-year high school student living in a seaside town

Cast Comments

Tomita Miyu (Sudo Rinka)

This series strikes a wonderful balance between comedy and heartwarming romance, and every recording session has been a joy. Rinka is younger than Koharu and the others, but she’s quite mature and put-together, so I’ve been careful to balance that grown-up side with a hint of youthfulness. I hope everyone will laugh and feel all the warm fuzzy feelings when it airs!

Kobayashi Chiaki (Misono Ren)

Ren works to bring Sota and Sato-san closer together, yet he occasionally shows a cold expression out of nowhere — he’s a hard character to pin down. I hope viewers will enjoy watching what role he plays in this wonderfully bittersweet and exciting love comedy.

Aoyama Yoshino (Misono Shizuku)

Shizuku is bright, boisterous, and a very spirited woman — she always puts me in a great mood when I’m recording. She’s supposed to be the big-sister figure watching over Sota and the others, but whether she’s actually watching over them or stirring things up is another question entirely. Please look forward to finding out!

Kanemoto Hisako (Nezu Mayo)

The straightforward, earnest feelings of those two are just so adorable and soothing! Mayo, as the adult in the room, watches over Sota and Koharu’s budding relationship alongside Shizuku — sometimes lending a hand, sometimes getting giddy, and sometimes using their situation as drinking conversation. (Laughs) It’s a series full of warmth and happiness. Please look forward to it!

Matsumoto Yasunori (Oshio Seizaemon)

When I first saw my character’s name in the script, I imagined a stern, old-fashioned role — but I was pleasantly surprised. Both the visual design and the character setup are quite something. I aimed to make him a good spice that adds flavor to the young couple’s love story.

Wakai Yuki (Murasaki Madoka)

A blonde tsundere delinquent girl — how could she be anything but adorable?! I was genuinely thrilled when I found out I’d been cast. Despite her tough exterior, Madoka has a truly pure heart, and she’s an incredibly lovable character. Please look forward to the broadcast!

The first key visual features main characters Koharu and Sota alongside the newly announced supporting cast. The character PV introduces each of the new additions to the story.

Advance Screening Event

A special advance screening will be held on September 20 at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo. Ishibashi Hisae (Sota), Ito Miku (Koharu), and Tomita Miyu (Rinka) are scheduled to appear at the event. Advance lottery ticket applications via Lawson Ticket opened on June 26.
