The upcoming TV short anime Josemaru (じょせまる) has announced its lead voice cast alongside a new teaser visual and a second teaser PV, offering fans their first listen to the character’s distinctive voice.
What Is Josemaru?
Josemaru is an original character created by Inochiya, conceived under the concept of “a tiny life living in the real world.” The character takes the form of a zero-year-old stuffed dog — essentially a newborn — who can only communicate in broken, three-word sentences using a made-up dialect called “Josego.” Lines such as “okane nai nai” (no money, none) and “sabishi dakara gyuchite” (lonely, so hug me) capture the character’s endearing, baby-like charm.
Tsuda Riho Joins as Josemaru
Voice actress Tsuda Riho has been confirmed in the title role. The second teaser PV marks the first public reveal of her performance. In a comment, Tsuda expressed her enthusiasm:
“I absolutely adore Josemaru and friends — working so hard with their tiny bodies, sometimes being needy, sometimes venting, then picking themselves back up again. I will give this role everything I’ve got!”
Teaser Visual and Second PV
The newly released teaser visual depicts Josemaru and companions sleeping peacefully on a futon. The second teaser PV continues the sleepy theme, with a bleary-eyed Josemaru rousing just long enough to tease the broadcast window. Both pieces highlight the series’ soft, cozy aesthetic.
The anime is produced as part of PicoAni (ピコアニ), the first short-anime brand launched by TV Asahi. The main episodes will be rendered in 2D animation, while the opening and ending sequences are produced in stop-motion.
