The official website for Sōkō Kihei Votoms: Haiiro no Hexe (Armored Trooper Votoms: The Grey Witch), a pair of new anime films produced by Sunrise and Production I.G, has revealed the cast, character designs, and a 30-second teaser trailer for the project.

About the Franchise
The original 1983 Armored Trooper Votoms anime is a landmark of the “real robot” mecha subgenre — inspired by Mobile Suit Gundam — depicting robots as mass-produced military hardware with realistic operational limitations and telling gritty, grounded stories about the brutal costs of war.
The story unfolds near the end of a century-long war between the Gilgamesh Confederation and the Balarant Union. The central weapon is the VOTOMS (Vertical One-man Tank for Offense & Maneuvers), a class of mecha prized for firepower but notorious for thin armor and high pilot casualties. Protagonist Chirico Cuvie, an elite Gilgamesh VOTOMS soldier, is swept into a vast conspiracy that brands him a traitor and leads him to encounter a mysterious woman.
Maiden Japan (Section23 Films) released the original series on Blu-ray Disc in 2019 and 2020. The franchise has spawned numerous spinoffs, including The Last Red Shoulder, Big Battle, Armor Hunter Mellowlink, Red Shoulder Document – Roots of Treachery, Pailsen Files, The Heretic Saint, and Alone Again — the last of which debuted in 2011, making Haiiro no Hexe the first new entry in over a decade.
