Japanese fashion brand SPINNS has announced a collaboration collection with TV anime Ranma 1/2, featuring apparel and goods dressed up in bright, pop-art-style designs centred on fan-favourite characters Ranma, Akane, and Shampoo. The items will go on sale from 6 November 2026 at select SPINNS stores and through the brand’s official online shop.
About Ranma 1/2
Ranma 1/2 is a martial-arts romantic comedy manga by Rumiko Takahashi — the creator behind Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Inuyasha, Kyōkai no RINNE, and MAO. It ran in Weekly Shōnen Sunday from issue 36 of 1987 through issue 12 of 1996, and remains enormously popular to this day.
The story begins when martial-arts master Genma Saotome and his son Ranma arrive at the Tendo household — except what actually shows up is a giant panda and a cute girl. Thanks to a training accident in China, Ranma transforms into a girl when splashed with cold water and reverts to a boy with hot water. The resulting chaos draws in a colourful cast of characters for a series full of laughs, tears, and the occasional bout of romance.
The brand-new anime adaptation is produced by MAPPA under director Konosuke Uda. Season 1 began airing in October 2024, generating huge buzz — not least because the original voice cast returned, including Kappei Yamaguchi as male Ranma, Megumi Hayashibara as female Ranma, and Noriko Hidaka as Akane Tendo. Season 2 aired on Nippon TV from October 2025, and Season 3 is currently broadcasting.
