The production team behind summer anime Thunder 3 has released the synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 2, titled “MULTIVERSE,” scheduled to broadcast on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
About Thunder 3
Thunder 3 is a TV anime adaptation of the manga by Yuki Ikeda, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Monthly Shōnen Magazine in 2022. The series follows a trio of close middle-school friends as they search for a missing younger sister. Its compelling storytelling and artwork quickly went viral on social media, earning the series an unusually swift nomination for the Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taisho 2022 award.
Series Synopsis
Unremarkable middle schooler Pyontaro belongs to a tight-knit group with classmates Tsubame and Hiroshi, collectively known as “Small 3.” Pyontaro’s energetic and mischievous little sister Futaba adores him and constantly keeps him on his toes — until one day she goes missing. Can the Small 3 work together to find her?
Episode 2 Synopsis: “MULTIVERSE”
After leaping onto the giant flying battleship that abducted Futaba, Pyontaro is hurled off from a height that should have buried him in the ground — yet he walks away completely unharmed.
It turns out that in the “Multiverse,” everything around them is strangely fragile, granting the Small 3 what feels like superhero-level power. Armed with their newfound abilities, the trio sets off to rescue Futaba — starting by going to meet their own counterparts in this world.
