TIFFCOM 2026 and the Tokyo International Film Festival have unveiled the lineup for the 7th Tokyo Gap-Financing Market (TGFM), set to run from October 28 to 30. A total of 24 film projects have been selected, five of which are animated works.
Animation Projects in the Lineup
Two Japanese animation projects stand out among the selections:
- Mahora — directed by Ayumi Moriyama and produced by OLM
- Princess Zonof — a project by YKBX and P.I.C.S.
Additional Japanese projects featured in the market include Brackish Zone (working title) from Nagoya Broadcasting Network, an as-yet-unnamed project from Toei, Where We Bury the Pigeon from LesPros Entertainment, and Wild Zero Overdrive, the latest work from director Tetsuro Takeuchi, best known for the cult film Wild Zero.
About the Tokyo Gap-Financing Market
The TGFM is designed to support film projects that have already secured at least 60% of their total budget, connecting producers with industry professionals through one-on-one meetings to help complete their financing and further develop their projects.
