About the Series
Seiya Kessen-hen is the second season of the Tokyo Revengers TV anime, broadcast from January to April 2023 on MBS, TV Tokyo, AT-X, and other channels. It covers Episodes 25–37 (continuing the numbering from Season 1) and is based on Wakui Ken‘s manga serialised in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine.
Story Synopsis
Returning to the present, Hanagaki Takemichi finds himself a senior member of the Tokyo Manji Gang — but before he can make sense of the situation, he falls into Kisaki Tetta‘s trap and has a gun pointed at him. He leaps back to the past once more, where he meets Shiba Hakkai, vice-captain of the gang’s Second Division, and Hakkai’s sister Yuzuha.
After Hakkai’s older brother — Shiba Taiju, leader of the Black Dragon (黒龍) — brutally beats Takemichi, Hakkai offers to join Black Dragon in exchange for sparing him. Takemichi and Matsuno Chifuyu then head to the church where Taiju awaits on the night of 25 December, determined to bring Hakkai back.
Highlights
- The Shiba Siblings: The fraught dynamic between Taiju, Yuzuha, and Hakkai drives the arc. Sugita Tomokazu (Taiju) and Komatsu Mikako (Yuzuha) join the cast for this season.
- Christmas Night Showdown: The climactic clash between Tokyo Manji and Black Dragon at a church on Christmas Eve, with Takemichi refusing to stay down no matter how many times he is beaten.
- Theme Songs: Opening theme “White Noise” by Official髭男dism (who also performed Season 1’s “Cry Baby”); ending theme “傷つけど、愛してる。” by Tuyu, written to mirror Yuzuha’s emotional arc.
