「虎鶫 -TSUGUMI PROJECT-」, the survival SF action manga by ippatu, has been officially announced for a TV anime adaptation. A teaser visual and teaser PV have been released alongside the announcement.
About the Series
「虎鶫 -TSUGUMI PROJECT-」first launched in France before generating buzz both domestically and internationally. The story is set in a Japan abandoned by humanity and overrun by creatures that have undergone bizarre evolutionary changes. At its center is Leone, a former soldier on death row who is handed a top-secret mission, and Tsugumi, a mysterious girl he encounters along the way. Together they must fight to survive in a world that has turned hostile beyond imagination. The Japanese edition was published by Kodansha and ran for a complete seven volumes.

ippatu shared a comment and a commemorative illustration to mark the anime announcement, expressing genuine surprise and excitement:
“I can’t believe ‘Tora Tsugumi’ is getting an anime — I’m absolutely floored. It’s all thanks to everyone who read it. I love seeing other people create things inspired by my work, so I’m incredibly excited. I’m currently serializing a manga called 「猩猩姫 (Shoujou Hime)」in Young Magazine, so it’d be great if we could do some kind of crossover — like Tsugumi and Shoujou Hime in a primitive human vs. ape-ability battle or something. My hands won’t stop typing. I really want to see Tsugumi moving around on screen soon. I wonder what’ll happen with Uncle Leone. I’m also curious about the voice cast. Tsugumi doesn’t have many lines, so I’d love it if the voice actress improvised and gave her more to say — sorry if that’s a headache for the director. Dudu probably has the most lines, with Tama-chan a close second — sounds like a rewarding job. The setting is all crumbling cityscapes, so the background art team is going to have a tough time. Drawing a single building took me hours, and there were dozens of them — I thought I’d die every time (distant stare). I don’t know when it’ll air, but I can’t wait. I’m grateful to everyone involved in bringing this to life.”
