The manga adaptation Usukawa Ichimai Mukougawa ~Kon’yaku Haki Sareta Nidome no Jinsei, Ayakashi wo Miru Me ga Saikyou Gunjin wo Michibiku~ launched its first volume today, August 8, published by Overlap under the Gardo Comics imprint. The manga is drawn by Shiojima Rei, based on the original novel by Mameda Mugi.
Story Overview
The story follows a young woman born with the ability to see igyou — strange, otherworldly beings invisible to everyone else. Rather than being celebrated, her gift makes those around her uneasy, and she spends her entire life ostracized. Clinging to her late grandfather’s words that her power would one day prove useful, she nonetheless dies without ever experiencing a single stroke of good fortune.
Reincarnated — but the Struggles Continue
She is reborn in another world as Satsuki, the eldest daughter of a distinguished family. Yet even in this new life, her eyes still perceive the igyou. To make matters worse, she possesses no magical ability whatsoever, leading her family to brand her as utterly useless. Disheartened that reincarnation has changed nothing, Satsuki resigns herself to another unhappy existence.
A Soldier Who Sees Her Worth
Everything changes when Ichii, a supremely skilled military man, takes notice of Satsuki’s rare sight. For the first time, someone actively seeks out her ability — setting the stage for a story about a power long dismissed finally finding its purpose.
