The Aniplex One Focus livestream event on Saturday unveiled a second promotional video for Vertex Force, an original TV anime directed by Kazuhiro Takamura, the creative mind behind Strike Witches and Vividred Operation. The event also confirmed the anime’s theme song artists and two additional cast members.
Theme Songs
Popular duo ClariS will perform the opening theme “Synchro Blue,” while Hashimero takes on the ending theme “Emerald.” The new promo video includes previews of both tracks.
New Cast Members
The event introduced Kazuki Ura as Alan and Nana Mizuki as EDVA, alongside a newly revealed key visual. The previously announced main cast includes:

- Ami Koshimizu as Eleanor Northbrook
- Megumi Han as Lala Zudenstein

Story
Akira lives a quiet life with his older sister Haruka and their mother, who runs a small café. The family, however, carries a secret: Haruka has inherited a power from their father known as “Engine,” which she carefully conceals from the world. Akira, who did not inherit this ability, struggles with a deep sense of inferiority — until strange phenomena begin occurring across the globe.
Staff
Takamura is directing and handling character design at studio SMDE. Gorō Kuji (Chained Soldier, Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise) serves as assistant director. Kanetake Ebikawa (Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury) is the “engine designer,” and JNTHED (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury, Urusei Yatsura 2022) handles “ENIA design.”
Takamura is overseeing the series scripts alongside Masashi Suzuki (Lord of Vermilion: The Crimson King; Jack-of-All-Trades, Party of None). Masahito Onoda (Brave Witches, Strike Witches: Road to Berlin) is chief animation director, and Nobuaki Nobusawa (Clevatess, Astra Lost in Space) is composing the score.

Premiere
Vertex Force premieres on October 3 at 11:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV, with streaming available on U-NEXT and other services in Japan.
When the project was first announced, Takamura shared that he loves cute girls, cool mecha, and anime — and that Vertex Force is his attempt to pack everything he loves into a single work.
