The animated feature film Wareware wa Uchuujin (我々は宇宙人) has announced four new voice cast members: Sano Gaku, Oseki Reika, Sasaki Arisa, and Ed Harumi. Character visuals for the film’s main cast have also been unveiled, depicting each character in both childhood and adult forms.
About the Film
Directed, written, and conceived by Kadowaki Kohei — known for helming the music video for YOASOBI’s “Yasashii Suisei” — the film follows a friendship spanning more than 30 years between Tsubasa, a shy boy who struggles with feeling ordinary, and Kyotaro, the popular kid in class. The two meet in a small rural town and become close friends, but a seemingly trivial incident tears their relationship apart.
New Cast Roles
- Sano Gaku voices Toda Seiya, a mischievous friend Tsubasa falls in with.
- Oseki Reika voices Toda Seiya as a child.
- Sasaki Arisa voices Matsushita Erumo, a member of Toda’s group.
- Ed Harumi voices the calligraphy teacher at the school attended by Tsubasa and Kyotaro.

Sano Gaku (Toda Seiya): “Reading the script, I was struck by how vividly it captured the unease and curious fear I felt as a child. I auditioned because I absolutely wanted to be part of this project. After watching the finished film, that strange sensation was pried open all over again — a bittersweet nostalgia mixed with regret over the mistakes of youth.
