The theatrical film Yu-Gi-Oh! THE DARK SIDE OF DIMENSIONS, based on the original work by Kazuki Takahashi, is set to receive a nationwide revival screening in Japan beginning Friday, November 20. The run will span 57 theaters across the country, including Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo.
Tied to the 30th Anniversary and Upcoming Art Exhibition
The revival is being held to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Yu-Gi-Oh! series and coincides with the “Kazuki Takahashi Original Art Exhibition: YU-GI-OH! ART WORKS”, scheduled to open in December. Originally released in 2016, the film was a fully original story set after the events of the manga, with Takahashi serving as writer, character designer, and executive producer.
New Key Visual, Trailer, and Admission Gifts
A new key visual and trailer have been released to mark the occasion, along with a comment from director Satoshi Kuwahara. Early attendees will receive one of two postcard designs featuring original illustrations drawn by Takahashi specifically for the film.
Audio Commentary via HELLO! MOVIE App
Starting November 27, viewers can enjoy an audio commentary track through the smartphone app HELLO! MOVIE, featuring a conversation between Shunsuke Kazama (voice of Yugi Muto) and Kenjiro Tsuda (voice of Seto Kaiba). A special anniversary video dialogue between the two voice actors has also been released to celebrate the 30th anniversary.
Director Satoshi Kuwahara’s Comment
“Hearing that this film will once again meet audiences on the big screen, I’m overflowing with excitement, and the thrill I felt ten years ago comes rushing back vividly. Whether you shared in the emotion at the theater back then, or are seeing it for the very first time now — please enjoy it to the fullest in the powerful atmosphere of a movie theater. Burn the sight of Yugi and Kaiba clashing at an overwhelming scale into your eyes, and feel the collision of their souls with your whole body. And don’t miss a single moment, right up to the shocking final cut that will leave every viewer speechless!”
