It has been announced that Yura Yura Q (ゆらゆらQ), the manga by Amegakure Gido, will receive a TV anime adaptation. A first teaser visual has been released alongside the announcement, depicting the series’ protagonist Kyūko cheerfully popping up from the bottom of the frame.
About Yura Yura Q
Yura Yura Q is a heartwarming slice-of-life comedy manga serialized in The Hana to Yume (ザ花とゆめ), published by Hakusensha, since 2019. The story centers on Kyūko, a high school girl born between a human and a fox spirit.
Despite having eight older siblings who are all beautiful and accomplished, Kyūko struggles with her inability to properly use her fox transformation power — known as “Charm” — and often feels hopelessly ordinary. Her childhood friend Haru-chan, however, always tells her that he loves everything about her just the way she is. The series follows Kyūko as she strives to find her own worth, for herself and for those around her.
The manga currently has five compiled volumes in print, with the first volume released on November 6, 2020.
Main Story Ending, Spin-off Series to Follow
The main storyline of Yura Yura Q will conclude in the The Hana to Yume: Kuzu Koi issue going on sale July 27. Starting next year, the series will transfer to the flagship Hana to Yume (花とゆめ) magazine — also published by Hakusensha — where a new side-story spin-off series will begin.
Free Reading Campaign to Celebrate the Anime Announcement
To mark the TV anime announcement, a free reading campaign for Volume 2 is being held on the Hana to Yume+ platform from July 20 at 12:30 PM through August 3 at 11:59 AM. Fans who haven’t yet picked up the series are encouraged to take advantage of the promotion.
