The production team behind the TV anime adaptation of Hifumi‘s light novel series The Eternal Fool’s Words of Wisdom (Yūkyū no Gusha Asley no, Kenja no Susume) has released a first teaser trailer and announced the full cast, key staff, and an official premiere of January 2027. Crunchyroll will stream the series internationally outside Japan.

Story
Asley is an eternally youthful — and eternally foolish — sorcerer who has spent thousands of years in solitude, kept company only by his Level 100 canine familiar Pochi. When Pochi finally pushes him out the door for the first time in two centuries, Asley must reintegrate into society, shed a string of unflattering titles, and restore his battered reputation. Adventures new and old await: from the mysterious Familiar Feud competition to a looming great evil threatening the world — all while enduring Pochi’s relentless “friendly advice.”
Source Material
Hifumi originally serialized the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from January 2015 to September 2019. Taibundo Publishing released the first print volume in September 2015 with illustrations by Kurihito Mutō, and concluded the run with the 14th and final volume in December 2019.
A manga adaptation by Fuh Araki launched on Earth Star Entertainment’s Comic Earth Star website in April 2017; its 13th compiled volume shipped on February 12. J-Novel Club publishes the manga in English under the title The Eternal Fool’s Words of Wisdom: A Pawsitively Fantastic Adventure, with the ninth volume released on June 17. The manga is also available on the Crunchyroll Manga app.
