The official website for the TV anime KAMUI: He’s Behind You (Japanese title: Ushiro no Shōmen Kamui-san), based on the manga by writer Eroki and artist Shinko Konoshiro, released a promotional video and new promotional visual on Friday. The video confirms the official premiere date of July 3.

The promotional video is available in two versions: a regular version and a “There Be Ghosts” version. The staff especially recommends watching the latter with headphones, as it includes audio that may be inappropriate in public. Both versions contain NSFW content.

Broadcast Schedule

The anime will begin airing on Tokyo MX on July 3 at 25:30 JST, followed by BS11 on July 7.

Synopsis

The story follows Shizuka, a high school girl with the special ability to see ghosts. She works as an assistant to Kamui, a famous exorcist whose methods for banishing spirits are strange and unlike anyone else’s.

Origins of the Manga

The original manga by Eroki and Shinko Konoshiro first began serialization in March 2020 on Shogakukan’s Manga ONE app. It has been collected into 12 volumes, with the latest volume released on February 19.
