The staff for the TV anime based on Kazuto Mihara‘s manga The World Is Dancing revealed a new music trailer and announced additional cast members. The trailer features the singing voices of Yumiri Hanamori as Oniyasha and Romi Park as Zōjirō, with both performers singing insert songs in the series. The staff also revealed new character visuals.
Synopsis
In 1374, amid the turmoil of the long-running war between the Northern and Southern Courts, a boy named Oniyasha is born into a family of Sarugaku performers. He lives in silence and gloom, fixated on a simple but deeply rooted question: “Why do people dance?” One day, he witnesses a dance that feels “good,” and everything begins to change. This is the story of a beautiful young boy who would later shape the art of Noh and be remembered as Zeami.

Production Staff
Toshimasa Kuroyanagi, known for directing Shōnen Hollywood, The Great Passage, and the Backflip!! series, is directing the anime at Cygames Pictures. Keigo Sasaki, whose character design credits include Blue Exorcist, ERASED, and Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray, is handling character designs. Satoshi Nemoto is overseeing calligraphy and title lettering. The opening theme song is “shusho” by Macaroni Empitsu.
Broadcast Schedule
The World Is Dancing will begin airing in Japan on July 2 on Tokyo MX and KBS Kyoto at 22:00 JST, followed by Sun TV at 24:00 JST, spanning the night of July 2 into the morning of July 3. It will also air on BS Asahi and TVQ Kyushu starting July 3.
Origins of the Manga
Kazuto Mihara’s original manga began serialization in Kodansha’s Morning magazine in March 2021 and ended in October 2022 with a total of six volumes. Kodansha USA Publishing licensed the series and has released all six volumes digitally.
