ฮิโรมิตสึ โมริตะ ผู้กำกับใหญ่Anime Sazae-san

Animation studio Eiken announced on Monday that Hiromitsu Morita, veteran animator and director, passed away on June 4. The studio did not disclose the cause of death, noting only that Morita had voluntarily retired in March 2024.

His Work on Sazae-san

Morita joined the production of the long-running Sazae-san anime in May 2005 as a line director, beginning with the series’ 5,648th episode. He was promoted to chief director in July 2011, a role he held for well over a decade until his retirement.

Other Notable Credits

Beyond Sazae-san, Morita built an extensive career across numerous anime productions, including:

  • Heart Cocktail — episode director
  • Kobo-chan — serving first as animation coordinator and later as chief director, including the specials Matsuri ga Ippai! and Yakusoku no Magic D
  • Ijiwaru Baasan (1996 anime)
  • Cello-Hiki no Gauche (1997 original video anime)
  • The World of Narue
  • Tegami
  • Ashita Kirarin

Morita’s passing marks a significant loss for the Japanese animation industry, particularly for fans of Sazae-san, a series he dedicated more than two decades of his career to.
