The live-action adaptation of Blue Lock, the manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura, has been confirmed for a simultaneous IMAX release at 65 theaters nationwide in Japan, beginning on its opening day of August 7, 2026.
A dedicated IMAX poster visual has been unveiled, showcasing Yoichi Isagi and his fellow strikers with intense, determined expressions as they drive toward goal — capturing the high-stakes spirit of the story. A new set of on-set production stills has also been released alongside the poster.
Story
Blue Lock follows Isagi, an unknown high school footballer who is recruited into a ruthless striker-training facility known as “Blue Lock.” There, he must outcompete 299 rivals gathered from across Japan to prove himself and become the greatest striker in the world.
