Ahead of its theatrical debut, Eiga Chiikawa: Ningyo no Shima no Himitsu (映画ちいかわ 人魚の島のひみつ) — the first-ever Chiikawa film — is teaming up with Japanese shopping mall chain PARCO for a summer tie-up campaign titled 「ちいかわ、パルコ、夏。」 (“Chiikawa, PARCO, Summer.”). The campaign runs from July 17 to August 2, 2026 across 15 PARCO locations nationwide and San-A Urasoe Nishikaigan PARCO CITY. The film itself opens in Japanese cinemas on July 24, 2026.
About Chiikawa
Chiikawa is a manga by illustrator Nagano (ナガノ), originally serialised on X (formerly Twitter) since 2020. The series follows the endearing yet sometimes bittersweet daily lives of characters including Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi. Its popularity has earned it a Japan Character Grand Prix Hall of Fame induction, and the anime adaptation — which began airing in 2022 — has surpassed 400 million views on YouTube worldwide.
About the Film
The movie adapts the fan-favourite long-form “Siren Arc” from the manga. It is directed by Oikawa Kei and produced by animation studio CyPi, known for its high-quality action sequences in Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Shin Jidai no Tobira. Original creator Nagano serves as full supervisor, with the adventure brought to life through sweeping music and dynamic visuals. Campaign artwork is handled by art director Wakita Asuka.

Fans can enter a draw to win one of 120 original dessert cup sets (2-piece) by following an official PARCO account on X and reposting the designated campaign post (marked “プレゼント対象投稿”). The target post is scheduled to go live on July 17. The entry period runs until August 2, 2026 at 23:59.
