Ao no Hako (Blue Box), the manga by Miura Koji, has officially concluded with chapter 250, published in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 33 of 2026 (on sale July 13, 2026). The series ran for over five years, having launched in April 2021.
Author’s Message
Miura Koji shared an illustration on his personal X account alongside a heartfelt message:
“Ao no Hako concludes with chapter 250. There is no greater happiness than drawing something you believe in and having others tell you it’s good too. This work became something precious that changed my life. These have been truly happy days. Thank you so much!”
The post quickly attracted an outpouring of gratitude from readers, including comments such as:

Kito Akari, who voices Shono Hina in the TV anime adaptation, quote-posted Miura’s message with her own words:
“Congratulations on completing Ao no Hako! Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful work and for continuing to draw it all the way through. There was a delicate, passionate, and beautiful youth in those pages… I am also deeply grateful for the chance to meet Hina!”
Anime Season 2 Arrives in October
The official anime X account also celebrated the manga’s conclusion, noting that Issue 33 features a special oversized center color spread along with congratulatory messages from the anime cast and artists, under the hashtag #250 このハコに. The account thanked readers for over five years of support.
While the manga has ended, fans have Ao no Hako Season 2 to look forward to. The second season is set to premiere on October 4, 2026, airing every Sunday at 16:30 on TBS and a network of 28 stations across Japan.
Ao no Hako Exhibition — Nagoya Tour
An Ao no Hako Exhibition will tour Nagoya from August 22 to September 27, 2026, at Telepia Hall. A highlight of the exhibition is the display of Miura Koji’s original hand-drawn manuscripts alongside the finished digital artwork — a rare opportunity for fans to see both side by side.
