The TV anime Hyouken no Majutsushi ga Sekai wo Suberu II (The Ice Sword Magician Who Reigns Over the World II) has been confirmed for an October 2026 broadcast on TBS and BS11. Alongside the announcement, a teaser PV and details on new characters joining the second season have been revealed.
Story and Background
Based on the light novel series by Mikoshiba Nana (published under Kodansha Ranobe Bunko) with original character designs by Koine Riko, the series follows Rey = White — hailed as the world’s greatest magician and known as the “Ice Sword Magician” — as he enrolls in an elite magic academy as a commoner and confronts a conspiracy targeting magicians.
In the second season, Rey, having found his place among his companions, enters the Magics War, a large-scale three-person team battle tournament, while an ominous shadow begins to close in. Production for Season 2 has moved to studio Zero-G. The teaser PV repeatedly references the “Seven Great Magicians,” building anticipation for an even grander showcase of heroics than Season 1.

The teaser PV features Rey and Ariane = Ohlgren training intensively ahead of the Magics War, as well as glimpses of new characters making their debut in Season 2. The overall tone promises higher stakes and more intense action than the first season.
New Characters and Cast
- Albert = Alium — A hardworking noble who trains tirelessly to live up to his family name. Voiced by Amasaki Kohei, returning from Season 1.
- Olivia = Arnold — The second princess of the Arnold Kingdom, just 14 years old yet possessing the grace and charisma befitting royalty. Voiced by Hishikawa Kana, new to the series in Season 2.
- Stella = White — Rey’s cheerful and sociable adopted younger sister. Voiced by Tanezaki Atsumi, who previously played Lydia = Ainsworth in Season 1.

Hishikawa Kana (Olivia = Arnold)
“Since Olivia is a new character in Season 2, I was nervous going into recording, but seeing the free-spirited and powerful performances of the senior cast fired me up — I had to convey Olivia’s charm properly! Olivia uses masculine first-person speech, but she was raised in the royal family, so I was careful to keep her cute and refined rather than tomboyish. Among all the people who love Rey, Olivia has her own very special feelings for him — I hope everyone pays attention to that.”
Tanezaki Atsumi (Stella = White)
“At the end of Season 1, the director told me, ‘If there’s a Season 2, Stella will probably have quite a few lines, and given her relationship with Lydia, I’d love for Tanezaki-san to take the role.’ When Season 2 actually happened and recording began, I was surprised by just how many lines she really does have! Stella is a bright, carefree girl who absolutely adores Rey. Just like with Lydia, I want to have fun and give it my all. Season 2 is shaping up to be another uniquely playful work — the sibling bond between Rey and Stella is really heartwarming, so please keep an eye on that.
