Story

The fantasy romance series draws inspiration from Chinese history. It follows Matsurika, a court lady serving in the emperor’s inner palace who is renowned for her exceptional memory. When she is asked to act as a practice partner for a marriage meeting with the son of a noble house, she arrives only to discover that the young man is none other than Emperor Hakuyō himself. The emperor falls for her at first sight, but challenges her to seek him out only after she has passed the state’s civil service examination for scholar-officials.
