The live event 「山下大輝の特盛り肉ッキング 2026 supported by animelo」 (Yamashita Daiki no Tokumori Nikkking 2026) took place on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at TFT Hall 500, split into afternoon and evening sessions. The event marked the second real-life gathering for the Niconico Namahouso programme 「山下大輝の肉ッキング supported by animelo」 — a “reward cooking show” in which voice actor Yamashita Daiki, a self-professed meat lover, invites fellow voice actors who enjoy cooking to prepare original meat-based recipes for him to devour. This edition was themed around celebrating Yamashita’s birthday, which fell the day after the event. Okamoto Nobuhiko appeared in both sessions, Aoi Shouta joined the afternoon session, and Sugita Tomokazu appeared in the evening session.
Afternoon Session
Yamashita opened the afternoon show with an energetic greeting — “I’m so happy everyone came out despite the rain!” — before Okamoto and Aoi took the stage. Okamoto quipped, “We’re the kind of guys who bite into meat and laugh together!”, while Aoi introduced himself as “Yamashita Daiki’s mother,” immediately warming up the crowd.
The first segment was a dramatic reading (朗読劇) in which the show’s mascot characters set off to find the finest meat for Yamashita’s birthday. Aoi played the cow Mogyust II, Yamashita played the bird Tebasuchan, and Okamoto played the pig Poteton. Audience members — both in the venue and watching the stream — voted on ingredient choices that determined the recipes used in the subsequent live-cooking segment. Mid-performance games included a word-association game with audience clapping and an “I love you” whispering game that left Yamashita so flustered the game ground to a halt, drawing a flood of delighted comments from online viewers.
In the live-cooking segment, Okamoto and Aoi tackled the “Niku Niku Niku Cake” — an original creation stacking sukiyaki, roast beef, and other meat dishes into the shape of a cake. The contrast between Okamoto’s bold, high-energy style and Aoi’s careful, precise approach kept Yamashita and the audience thoroughly entertained. When Yamashita finally tasted the finished dish, he exclaimed, “It’s delicious — on a completely different level!” The two guests praised each other’s contributions warmly.
The afternoon’s closing dramatic reading contained a surprise: Aoi broke into Happy Birthday to You, a moment Yamashita had no idea was coming, as he had been given a different script. “I had no idea! Evening Session
The evening session kicked off with Yamashita barely able to contain his excitement. Guest Sugita Tomokazu made his entrance dressed in a traditional Japanese chef’s outfit, prompting online viewers to comment “Hey, Master Chef!” and “The vibe is totally different from the afternoon session lol.”
In the evening’s dramatic reading, Sugita took over the role of Mogyust II, and his rapid-fire improvisation kept the audience laughing throughout. A segment called “Bittersweet Word Shiritori” saw Sugita offer “a letter I never got to send,” to which Okamoto followed with “we were all playing hide-and-seek but everyone disappeared” — a blend of humour and gentle melancholy that landed perfectly with the crowd.
For the evening’s live-cooking segment, the trio prepared a “Niku Niku Niku Plate” featuring three dishes: “Yaki-shabu Sand,” “Teri-ringo Chicken,” and “Stick Spring Rolls.” Sugita handled the meat while Okamoto and Yamashita prepped bread and vegetables — though Okamoto kept stopping to snack, earning a sharp “Nobu, you’re a disaster!” from Sugita. Cooking supervisor Fujioaka-sensei, watching from the wings, eventually stepped in to gently remind them, “Um… shall we actually cook?” to roars of laughter. All three dishes were completed successfully, with the unexpected pairing of fried spring rolls and a marmalade-based sauce earning unanimous approval. Yamashita’s eyes lit up at the Teri-ringo Chicken: “This is insanely good!”
The evening’s closing dramatic reading brought another birthday surprise, as Okamoto, Sugita, and the entire audience joined together to sing Happy Birthday to You. Sugita noted, “I always turn down requests to sing, but this is a special exception for Daiki-chan’s birthday,” drawing one of the biggest cheers of the night. Staff also presented a giant birthday cake printed with Yamashita’s face, and the streaming chat filled with congratulatory messages.
Closing Messages
During the ending talk, both guests addressed Yamashita directly. Okamoto said he hoped to keep watching Yamashita shine on stage, to act alongside him, and to celebrate and share more meat together. Sugita offered a more reflective message: growing up, he had no tradition of celebrating birthdays and never thought of them as special — but since becoming a voice actor, he had come to appreciate the birthdays of the characters he plays, and the meaning of birthdays had shifted for him. “Thanks to Daiki-chan’s wonderful reactions,” he said, “birthdays have become something even more precious and meaningful.”
Yamashita closed the event by thanking everyone involved, telling the audience to “go home with full stomachs,” and declaring, “I think I can make the most of being 37!”
