The live-action drama series Aku no Hana (惡の華), adapted from Oshimi Shuzo‘s manga of the same name, is streaming exclusively on Disney+ in Japan. All 12 episodes are available as part of the standard subscription with no additional fees.

Where Can You Watch Aku no Hana?

The series aired on TV Tokyo every Thursday late night, running from April 9 to June 25, 2026. Disney+ carried each episode as an exclusive stream shortly after its broadcast premiere.

A temporary catch-up stream was available on TVer during the broadcast window, but that is no longer accessible. For anyone wanting to watch from Episode 1 through the finale, Disney+ is currently the only option.

Checked platforms including DMM TV, U-NEXT, Amazon Prime Video, Lemino, Hulu, Netflix, FOD, ABEMA, TELASA, dAnime Store, and YouTube do not carry the drama. DVD rental via TSUTAYA DISCAS is also unavailable.

Disney+ Plans and Pricing

  • Standard: ¥1,250/month or ¥12,500/year (tax included)
  • Premium: ¥1,670/month or ¥16,700/year (tax included)

Both plans give full access to all 12 episodes. There is no free trial period. Since each episode runs approximately 30 minutes, a single month’s subscription is enough time to finish the entire series.

Disney+ also carries content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars, alongside Japanese dramas, anime, and Korean dramas under the “Star” brand.

Note: The series carries a “15+” rating on Disney+ due to its frank depiction of adolescent pain and a controlling relationship. Viewer discretion is advised.

Story and Highlights

Set in a small provincial city in Gunma Prefecture, second-year middle schooler Kasuga Takao impulsively steals the gym clothes of his crush, Saeki Nanako, after school one day. The act is witnessed by Nakamura Sawa, the class outcast, who forces Kasuga into a “contract” under threat of exposure. What follows is a slow, unsettling unraveling of Kasuga’s sense of self as Nakamura tightens her grip on him.

Key Highlights

  • Dual leads Suzuki Fuku and ano: Former child actor Suzuki Fuku portrays the increasingly cornered Kasuga, while musician and artist ano plays the domineering Nakamura. Their charged dynamic drives the series.
  • Late-night drama format: TV Tokyo’s late-night slot allows the production to explore the source material’s themes of adolescent claustrophobia and twisted relationships with unusual depth and candor.
  • Original music: The opening theme, 「愛晩餐」(Ai Bansan), was written by ano specifically for the series. The ending theme, 「クライクライ」(Kurai Kurai), is performed by majiko. The score is composed by Takahashi Honoka of Legal Lily (リーガルリリー).
