The theatrical film Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc began streaming exclusively on Prime Video on September 19, marking the one-year anniversary of its theatrical debut. The film had already become a massive global hit, grossing over 29.7 billion yen worldwide during its theatrical run.
Hanae Natsuki’s Home-Viewing Guide Video
To celebrate the streaming launch, a special video titled “[Home Edition] Cheering Viewing Guide” was released on September 20. Hosted by Hanae Natsuki, the voice of shark-fiend Beam, the video presents four tips for getting the most out of watching the film at home — including shouting reactions freely, rewatching favourite scenes on repeat, and decorating your room to set the mood — all experiences uniquely enabled by streaming.
Retro Video-Store Exhibition at Shinjuku Station
From September 21 to 27, the Metro Promenade at Shinjuku Station is hosting a large-scale out-of-home advertisement designed to look like a vintage rental video shop. The concept draws on the film’s reputation among shark-movie fans as the “ultimate shark film.”
The exhibition features:
- A retro shark-movie-style special poster created by Prime Video
- A three-dimensional panel of the scene where Chainsaw Man rides Beam
- Two exclusive VHS case designs for Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc, available to see only at this exhibition
- VHS cases for 30 shark films arranged on shelves like a real rental store
- A special corner featuring picks recommended by original manga creator Fujimoto Tatsuki, complete with POP signage
- Scene stills, life-size character illustrations, five key visuals from the theatrical run, and a newly drawn visual created for the Prime Video release
About the Film
Chainsaw Man is based on the manga by Fujimoto Tatsuki (Shueisha / Jump Comics). It follows Denji, a young devil hunter burdened by his late father’s debts, who fuses with a devil to become the chainsaw-wielding Chainsaw Man. The TV anime series launched in October 2022, with the theatrical film following in September 2025.
In this chapter, while Denji is excitedly preparing for a date with Makima, a sudden downpour leads him to a chance encounter with a mysterious girl named Reze. The two grow close quickly, and Denji’s everyday life begins to change from that moment on.
