The official website for the TV anime adaptation of the light novel Hell Mode – The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World with Garbage Balancing (Hell Mode – Yarikomi Suki no Gamer wa Hai Settei no Isekai de Musō Suru), written by Hamuo and illustrated by Mo, has announced four additional voice cast members for Season 2 of the anime.
New Season 2 Voice Cast
- Reiji Kawashima — voices Keel, a young boy who lost his mind to gold in a past life
- Kiyono Yasuno — voices Sophialohne, princess of the Elf Kingdom
- Hikaru Midorikawa — voices Volmaar, Sophialohne’s guardian
- Miyu Tomita — voices Meruru, a dwarf girl with a rare talent for military bookkeeping
It was previously announced that Takahiro Sakurai will also return in Season 2, reprising his role as Helmios.
Production Staff and Season 1 Broadcast Info
Season 1 of the anime premiered on January 9 (at 25:05 JST) on MBS and BS NTV. Streaming platforms ABEMA and d Anime Store began simulcasting on the same night, while U-NEXT and Anime Hōdai started service on January 12. HIDIVE also streamed the series simultaneously with an English dub available.
Season 1 was directed by Masato Tamagawa (previously known for Saint Seiya: Saintia Shō, The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt, The Great Cleric) at Yokohama Animation Lab, with Daishiro Tanimura (Magical Destroyers) handling series composition and Kei Tsushima (The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These) on character design. The music was composed by a team of multiple artists including Misaki Tsuchida, Moyu Kanazaki, Junko Nakajima, Kanade Sakuma, Reiko Abe, Kaho Sawada, BeauDamian, and Tsugumi Tanaka.
The Season 1 opening theme was “Haku” performed by Atarayo, while the ending theme was “Sanctuary” performed by Kaya.
Source Material
Hamuo began publishing this story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in November 2019 and has continued serialization to the present. Earth Star Entertainment later published a print edition starting in July 2020. The manga adaptation by Tetta launched in Comic Earth Star in October 2020 and remains ongoing.
