The official website for the anime The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World (Japanese title: Hyōken no Majutsushi ga Sekai wo Suberu), adapted from the light novel by Nana Mikoshiba, has launched and confirmed that the series will receive a Season 2, scheduled to air in October this year.
Staff and Cast
Masahiro Takata returns as director and also serves as Sound Director this time. The animation studio has changed from Cloud Hearts (Season 1) to Zero-G for this season.
On the series composition side, in addition to Takata, Tomoko Shinozuka returns from Season 1, and Takahito Onishi (known for Whisper Me a Love Song and My Happy Marriage) also joins the team. The position of Character Designer changes from Makoto Shimojima to Mariko Kawamoto (Magica Wars).
The main returning voice cast includes:
- Junya Enoki — Ray White
- Iori Saeki — Amelia Rose
- Akira Sekine — Ariane Olgren
Source Material
Season 1 began airing in January 2023, with Crunchyroll streaming it simultaneously alongside its Japanese broadcast, including an English dub.
Mikoshiba’s original light novel began publishing on the website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in October 2019, before being released as a print light novel in January 2020, with illustrations by Riko Korie, published by Kodansha in Japan.
The manga adaptation by Norihito Sasaki launched in Magazine Pocket in June 2020 and concluded in January 2024 with volume 16 as the final volume, released in April 2024. Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed the manga for international distribution.
New Manga Continuation
The Season 2 anime website has also revealed information about a new manga series titled Hyōken no Majutsushi ga Sekai wo Suberu II, with art by Nao Kagami and composition by Ichi Okane. It is set to serialize on Niconico Manga under Kodansha’s “Suiyōbi no Sirius” label — though the manga is not yet publicly available to read on Niconico Manga.
