About Made in Abyss
Made in Abyss is a fantasy manga by Akihito Tsukushi, serialized in “Take Comics!” with cumulative series sales exceeding 22 million copies. The story follows Riko, a young cave raider who dreams of unraveling the mysteries of the “Abyss” — the world’s last great unexplored chasm — alongside Reg, an amnesiac robot she discovers there.
The franchise began with a TV anime in 2017, followed by the theatrical film Dawn of the Deep Soul in 2020 and a second TV anime season, The Golden City of the Scorching Sun, in 2022. The ongoing theatrical film series continues the story; in [Part 1] The Mysterious Awakening, Riko and her companions invite Faputa, the “Princess of the Narehate,” to join them as they descend to the seventh layer of the Abyss.
