นักพากย์จากAnime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto บนเวทีงาน Natsu no Enyukai 2026 ที่ Pacifico Yokohama

The “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto ~Natsu no Enyukai 2026~” event was held on August 15 at the Pacifico Yokohama National Grand Hall in Kanagawa Prefecture, drawing a full house of 4,000 fans. The cast in attendance included Yuki Aoi (Maomao), Otsuka Gou (Jinshi), Konishi Katsuyuki (Gaoshun), Tanezaki Atsumi (Gyokuyou), Seto Asami (Shisui/Rouran), Kuno Misaki (Xiaolan), Tachibana Ryumaru (Basan), Toyonaga Toshiyuki (Luoban), and insert-song performers Ohara Yuiko and Miyake Rimu.

The atmosphere was festive well before the event began, with fans sporting green and purple accessories evoking Maomao and Jinshi respectively, many carrying character merchandise and plushies from the station all the way to the venue.

In-Character Venue Announcements

As a surprise ahead of the afternoon session, Tachibana Ryumaru and Toyonaga Toshiyuki delivered the venue’s pre-show announcements fully in character. Tachibana, as Basan, warned the audience: “If anyone tries to secretly photograph Jinshi-sama… surely even you lot know what would happen?” while Toyonaga kept the crowd laughing with his character’s playful wit. Both received a rousing round of applause when the announcements concluded.

Live Dubbing: Season 1 Digest

The event’s first main segment featured the cast performing live dubbing over an approximately 20-minute digest of the Season 1 anime. Scenes included Maomao and Xiaolan’s casual daily banter, Jinshi presenting Maomao with a hairpin, and Maomao sprinting desperately to save Jinshi’s life. The cast delivered their lines in real time, making the audience laugh during the comedic exchanges and hold their breath during the tense ones. Ohara Yuiko also performed the insert song “Soufuu” live, with many fans closing their eyes to take in every note.

Original Stage Reading: “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto School Diaries”

Next came a stage reading of “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto School Diaries,” a brand-new episode written exclusively for this event. Based on the world of the April Fools’ Day video “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto ~School ♡ Diaries~” released on April 1 last year, the story reimagines the cast as students at a school, with Gaoshun as a teacher and Luoban as a student teacher.

  • Afternoon session: Shisui and Xiaolan team up to solve the school’s “Seven Mysteries.”
  • Evening session: Jinshi and Gyokuyou host a radio programme.

A highlight of the reading was the abundance of interactions between characters who rarely share scenes in the main series — such as Xiaolan and Luoban — offering a fresh dynamic that delighted the audience.

Live Dubbing: Season 2 Digest

Following the stage reading, the cast performed another round of live dubbing over a roughly 20-minute Season 2 digest. Key scenes included Maomao and Shisui’s first meeting, Maomao’s overjoyed reaction upon receiving a bezoar (牛黄) from Jinshi, the kidnapping of Maomao and Shisui from the rear palace, and Shisui’s liberation. Miyake Rimu performed the insert song “Inochi no Tomoshibi” live to great effect, and when the final line was dubbed, the entire hall erupted in applause.

Season 3 and Film Announcements

The event’s closing segment brought a wave of new information about Season 3, with a new PV, key visual, broadcast details, opening theme, and cast news all revealed at once.

  • Key new character Bai Niangniang (白娘々) will be voiced by Ueda Reina.
  • The Season 3 opening theme is “Kumo wo Nuke Kazashimo e Watashi Dake” by Yorushika.
  • Season 3 premieres on October 2 in the Nippon TV “FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT (Fura-Ani)” timeslot.

New details for the theatrical film “Gekijouban Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Bouki no Hiho” were also unveiled, including original film characters Mu Qing, Ruo Qing, and Yin Shan, all designed by Shino Toko, the illustrator of the original light novel series.

Closing Remarks

Otsuka Gou closed with a warm smile: “This is the first standalone event for ‘Kusuriya no Hitorigoto,’ and I’m truly savouring the happiness of spending this rich time with all of you. With Season 3 and the film still to come, I hope even more people will get to enjoy this work. Your support is our greatest strength.”

Yuki Aoi wrapped up the event with characteristic candour: “When I first saw the script, I was terrified because Maomao never stops talking (laughs). But once we got into it, the time flew by. I got to have so much fun with everyone, and I fell even more in love with Maomao and with ‘Kusuriya.’ I hope we were able to show you what our dubbing sessions feel like. Thank you so much for today — please keep cheering us on!”
