Fans of The Prince of Tennis (テニスの王子様) have plenty to celebrate: the beloved series is set to appear on the back cover of anan magazine’s issue 2504, on sale July 15, 2026, complete with an exclusive special gravure spread that can only be found in the magazine.
Back Cover Reveal and Exclusive Gravure
On July 7, anan’s official X account unveiled the back cover image, announcing an exclusive gravure feature tied to the 20th-anniversary remaster releases of the romance adventure games Gakuen Matsuri no Ouji-sama (学プリ / Gakupri) and Dokidoki Survival (ドキサバ / Dokisaba), both launching on July 30, 2026.
The back cover features Ryoma Echizen, Kunimitsu Tezuka, Shuusuke Fuji, and Ryoga Echizen dressed in casual clothes — a rare look for the characters. The magazine’s interior will also carry a detailed report on the two remaster titles.
A 27-Year Series Nears Its End
The Prince of Tennis began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999, following Ryoma Echizen and his Seishun Academy tennis club teammates. The sequel, The New Prince of Tennis (新テニスの王子様), launched in Jump SQ. in 2009. After more than 27 years, the series will conclude with the September issue of Jump SQ., going on sale August 4, 2026.
The TV anime first aired on TV Tokyo in October 2001, with the sequel series following in 2012 and expanding the story from regional to national to world-stage tournaments. An upcoming anime, Shin Tennis no Ouji-sama U-17 WORLD CUP 決勝メンバー決定戦, is scheduled for autumn 2026, and a 25th-anniversary project will continue through the end of December 2027.

Both remaster titles are published by KONAMI and launch simultaneously on July 30, 2026, for Nintendo Switch™, Nintendo Switch™ 2, and Steam® (the latter two platforms are download-only).
