The production team behind Soreike! Anpanman: Pantan to Yakusoku no Hoshi (Let’s Go! Anpanman: Pantan and the Star of Promise) has released a special video and a spot video ahead of the film’s theatrical debut.
Special Video: A Broken Promise and a Second Chance
The special video centers on Pantan, a red panda traveler who serves as the film’s key new character. It reveals that Pantan once broke an important promise he had made to his adventurer friend Nyakkuru — a regret that has weighed heavily on him ever since. Lost and despairing, Pantan finds renewed purpose after Anpanman and his friends come to his aid. The clip captures Pantan’s earnest determination to push forward alongside his new companions, even as he carries the burden of his past.
Spot Video: Comedy and Crisis
The spot video opens with Anpanman leaping boldly into the sky, declaring, “Let’s all go — to the place of the promise!” It also showcases the comic antics of series regulars Baikinman and Dokinchyan, who disguise themselves and sneak aboard a plane to chase after Pantan’s group. Adding to the excitement is a tense moment in which Anpanman’s cape tears, leaving him in serious peril.
Story and Cast
The film follows Anpanman and friends as they embark on an adventure with Pantan, a red panda who has been turned into a child by the mischievous Baikinman. Driven by his desire to fulfill his promise to Nyakkuru, Pantan fights through every obstacle in his path. Actress Tao Tsuchiya (土屋太鳳) provides the voice of Pantan.
Soreike! Anpanman: Pantan to Yakusoku no Hoshi opens in Japanese theaters on June 26.
