It has been officially announced that Vampire Juujikai (ヴァンパイア十字界), the acclaimed manga by Shirohei Kyo, will receive a TV anime adaptation in 2027 — a full 24 years after the series first launched in print.
About the Creator and Source Material
Shirohei Kyo is a prolific author active in both novels and manga, known for works such as Kyokou Suiri (In/Spectre), Zetsuen no Tempest, and Spiral: Suiri no Kizuna. He won the 12th Honkaku Mystery Award in the novel category for Kyokou Suiri: Koujin Nanase, earning widespread praise for his intricate plotting and precise mystery construction.
Vampire Juujikai began serialization in 2003 in Monthly Shōnen Gangan (Square Enix), building a devoted fanbase thanks to its richly crafted narrative.
Story
The series is set in a world where vampires, humans, and dhampirs — half-bloods born of both races — coexist uneasily. At its center is Roseblood Strauss, the last king of the “Kingdom of Night,” who has fought alone for over a thousand years to reclaim his queen, sealed away by humankind. When a new threat emerges, long-hidden truths begin to unravel, setting the stage for an epic tale of love and revenge spanning a millennium.
