The production team behind Yoroi Shinden Samurai Troopers (鎧真伝サムライトルーパー) has released the synopsis and advance preview cuts for Episode 13, “Shinsho”, the opening chapter of Season 2, set to air on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
A True Sequel 40 Years in the Making
Yoroi Shinden Samurai Troopers is the official sequel to the beloved classic Yoroi-den Samurai Troopers, presenting a fully original story set in present-day Shinjuku. The series is directed by Yoichi Fujita, known for Gintama and Osomatsu-san, and produced by SUNRISE Studios, the animation studio under Bandai Namco Filmworks.
Season 1 launched on January 6, 2026, immediately generating buzz when related keywords trended on X (formerly Twitter) after the first episode aired. The season concluded with Episode 12 on March 24, with the appearance of the original Samurai Troopers drawing an enthusiastic response from fans.
Season 2 Story: A New Threat Called “Tendokai”
The Season 2 narrative picks up three months after Kaito and his allies defeated the Yoja Emperor Rajinga and saved Tokyo from the Yojakai’s invasion. The city is rebuilding, and people are once again enjoying peace — but that peace is short-lived. A new threat known as “Tendokai” (天導界) emerges, led by Yashima no Sagume and four warriors called the Shijushi, who declare their intent to “remake the world.” A new battle for the Samurai Troopers begins.
Episode 13 Synopsis: “Shinsho”
Three months have passed since Kai sacrificed himself to bring the Yoja uprising to an end. At DST, a new commander has taken over from Nasty, and the devastated streets of Tokyo are showing signs of recovery. While the people enjoy the return of peace, only Kaito and his friends feel the absence of Kai weighing on them.
Then, an anomaly reappears in the skies above Tokyo — a sign that the Yoja may be returning. Kaito and the others head into the Yojakai to investigate, and there, at the Spring of Oblivion, they discover Kai — turned to stone…
