The ongoing full-series rerun of Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) aired episode 11, “Drum House,” on June 14, 2026. The broadcast immediately set social media alight, with viewers posting reactions like “It’s a Zenitsu episode today!!” and “Zenitsu episode — gotta watch!”
About Kimetsu no Yaiba
Based on the manga by Gotouge Koyoharu, Kimetsu no Yaiba follows Kamado Tanjiro, a boy whose family is slaughtered by demons. He joins the Demon Slayer Corps in a bid to turn his demonified sister Nezuko back into a human. The series blends poignant human-demon drama, breathtaking swordfights, lovable characters, and well-timed comedy — a combination that has driven cumulative sales of the 23-volume Jump Comics edition past 220 million copies.
Animated by ufotable, the franchise launched in April 2019 with the Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc. The story continues in the theatrical trilogy Gekijouban Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen-jou-hen, whose first chapter, “Chapter 1: Akaza Returns,” opened in cinemas on July 18, 2025.
Episode 11 — “Drum House” [Spoilers]
The episode opens with Tanjiro heading to his next assignment as directed by his Kasugai Crow, only to find fellow Final Selection survivor Agatsuma Zenitsu on his knees in the middle of the road, begging a girl to marry him: “Please! You’re the only one for me!” Zenitsu’s messenger sparrow Chuntaro frantically chirps for help, and Tanjiro — understanding the bird’s words — steps in to intervene.
Early Zenitsu: Ridiculous, Yet Kind-Hearted
Zenitsu recognises Tanjiro’s uniform from the Final Selection, but when Tanjiro flatly says “I don’t know anyone like you!”, Zenitsu erupts in disbelief. Fans online had a field day: “Stable as ever, Zenitsu lol,” “Tanjiro calling Zenitsu ‘you’ sounds so fresh,” and “Early Zenitsu really was something else… w.” Viewers who already know how far Zenitsu grows found the early scenes newly hilarious in hindsight.
The episode’s most beloved moment is an anime-original scene not found in the manga: after Tanjiro offers Zenitsu his only rice ball, Zenitsu asks, “Aren’t you going to eat?” When Tanjiro admits it’s all he has, Zenitsu quietly splits it in two and hands half back. The internet melted: “That’s exactly the kind of sweetness I love about Zenitsu,” “The rice-ball-splitting scene is so good — both of them are genuinely good kids,” and “One anime-original scene perfectly captures Zenitsu’s kind heart.”
The Drum House and Inosuke’s Debut
Arriving at a mansion deep in the woods, Tanjiro catches an unfamiliar scent of blood while Zenitsu hears strange sounds. A frightened boy warns them, “This is a monster’s house,” and moments later a bloodied man is hurled from the second floor and dies on impact. Viewers were stunned that such graphic content appeared in a Sunday-morning timeslot, joking “This is a bit much for a Sunday morning” and “Reminder: this airs at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays.”
Inside, the rooms shift position with every beat of a drum, separating Tanjiro and Zenitsu. Zenitsu wails “I’m going to die, I’m going to die — I got separated from Tanjiro!” only to be scolded by the young boy with him. Fans piled on: “Zenitsu is by far the loudest one lol,” “Getting told off by a little kid — classic,” and “Zenitsu took massive damage.”
Then, when Zenitsu desperately flings open a door hoping to escape, he comes face-to-face with the wild boar-headed swordsman Hashibira Inosuke — making his series debut. Fans erupted: “He opens the door and it’s Inosuke lmao,” “Inosuke is here!!!” and “An absolutely unhinged boar just showed up www.”
Cast Comments for Episode 11
The official Kimetsu no Yaiba account releases weekly cast comments to mark the rerun. For episode 11, Yamazaki Takumi — the voice of the Kasugai Crow, known for roles such as Trippie in the Shimajiro series and Isamu Dyson in Macross Plus — reflected: “Looking back, it was the ‘Drum House’ arc where my internal image of the Kasugai Crow really crystallised.”
Iwami Manaka, who voices Chuntaro the Kasugai Sparrow and is known for Shiina Mahiru in Otonari no Tenshi-sama, Rice Shower in Uma Musume Pretty Derby, and Kurokawa Akane in Oshi no Ko, also commented: “I remember the recording session being fun from the start because Zenitsu was screaming non-stop. The balance between the comedic and serious scenes is something I personally love about this episode!”
ufotable additionally shared a photo of the original recording-session script cover from the time — inviting fans to take note of Zenitsu’s panicked expression on it.
The Zenitsu Gap: Then vs. Mugen-jou
The biggest talking point of the rerun was the staggering contrast between early Zenitsu and the Zenitsu fans have seen in Mugen-jou-hen. Comments like “The gap between Mugen-jou Zenitsu and this Zenitsu is hilarious w” and “He keeps saying he’s going to die but never actually does — total fake-out” captured the collective affection fans have developed for the character across the entire run.
The full-series rerun began on April 5 — just one day before the seventh anniversary of the original April 6, 2019 premiere. Episode 11 delivered both laugh-out-loud comedy in its first half and genuine tension in its second, earning widespread praise as one of the most entertaining episodes to revisit. The next-episode preview’s “Taisho-Era Gossip” segment teases that “Zenitsu is basically flustered by every single girl he meets, no matter who she is.”
