The TV anime Yomi no Tsugai, based on the manga by Hiromu Arakawa serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly Shōnen Gangan, has unveiled its Cour 2 key visual, main PV, and theme song artists. The second cour is set to begin airing on July 4.
Key Visual & Main PV
The Cour 2 key visual centers on the fierce battle between Sayu (左右様) and the enigmatic Ivan Yosano (与謝野イワン), with Yuru depicted behind them, bow drawn and eyes locked on the enemy with a piercing gaze.
The main PV showcases Ivan’s assault on Higashimura village and his confrontation with elder Yamaha, as well as a scene in which Kyōka entrusts a crucial mission to Danji, Yuru’s childhood friend. The PV also teases a mysterious new character with an alien-like appearance, and Danji racing through the underworld alongside Oshirasama.
Theme Songs

- Ending Theme: “孔雀 (Kujaku)” by Kei Sugawara
Both artists have shared comments, and “back shot” can already be heard in the main PV.

“back shot” is a new song written around the theme of distrust and hypocrisy — the hidden face of humanity — that I have felt throughout my life. It reflects on Yuru’s pure heart for the people he loves, and those around him who try to exploit it. I hope listeners can take in all kinds of emotions alongside this wonderful anime.

Is it selfishness, or is it love? It doesn’t matter anymore. I sang this song with a feeling that is both complicated and utterly straightforward — I just want you to keep living. Yomi no Tsugai was already a work I had been following and deeply loved before I was approached, so recording felt like having an impromptu fan discussion about the series with Otoda-san. It was truly a joy!
Story
Yomi no Tsugai follows Yuru and Asa, twins born deep in the mountains of Japan as “the pair that divides night and day.” The original manga continues its run in Monthly Shōnen Gangan.
