The “Girls & Panzer Motto Love Love Carnival” event was held on June 28 at Yurakucho Asahi Hall in Tokyo, with two performances (afternoon and evening) celebrating the spinoff anime Girls & Panzer Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu! — a comedic slice-of-life spinoff that screened in four theatrical installments from December 2025 through April of this year. The following is a report from the afternoon show.

The Cast

Five voice actors took the stage:

  • Mai Fuchigami as Miho Nishizumi
  • Ayako Kawasumi as Kay
  • Hitomi Nabatame as Erika Itsumi
  • Yo Daichi as Pepperoni / Murakami / Kubota Rin (three roles)
  • Natsumi Takamori as Rosehip / Ram

“What Did You Have for Lunch?” — The Icebreaker

After the cast’s opening greetings, a Boko mascot costume appeared on stage and kicked off the talk segment with the laid-back question: “What did everyone have for lunch today?” The conversation quickly became lively when Fuchigami mentioned there had also been doughnuts, prompting surprised reactions from her co-stars and laughter from the audience.

Fan Q&A

The talk moved into a fan Q&A. When asked “Which school in the series would you want to visit?”, Nabatame chose Keizoku High School for its sauna, while Fuchigami picked St. Gloriana Girls’ Academy for the snacks. When Takamori suggested BC Freedom Academy as an alternative, Fuchigami immediately shot it down: “It’s too tense over there…” — drawing big laughs.

Asked about their favorite scenes or lines for their characters, Kawasumi chose Kay’s cold line to Alisa — “We’ll have a review meeting” — noting she loves how uncharacteristically intimidating Kay looks in that moment. Daichi picked the scene where Pepperoni explains how to make Neapolitan pasta on a griddle, recalling how nervous she was during the recording session since it was one of her earliest scenes in the franchise. “It’s such a simple scene, but it feels so emotional to me now.”

On the topic of where their characters might end up in the future, Nabatame imagined Erika still serving the Nishizumi family — then mused, “I wonder if she could become an adopted daughter?” Daichi pictured Pepperoni running a food stall, and Nabatame immediately added, “She’d probably show up at a tankery tournament with her stall!” — a vision everyone enthusiastically agreed with.

Quiz Corner: Win Ibaraki Dried Sweet Potatoes

A quiz segment offered gift vouchers for hoshi-imo (dried sweet potatoes), a specialty of Ibaraki Prefecture — the real-world setting of the series. Questions were drawn from the anime’s content, covering topics such as Yukari’s swimsuit design, the first animal the Chihatan Academy crew encountered, and the curry Erika gave Maho in Episode 7.

For the final question — “What food stall did Ando set up to lure the hungry Oshida?” — answers were split among the cast, but Fuchigami got it right on her own, scooping up all 13 remaining voucher tickets. She closed the segment with a triumphant quip: “When you’re in ‘Garupan,’ you never have to worry about running out of dried sweet potatoes!”

Picture Drama: Erika’s Dream Story Brings Chaos

The picture drama segment opened with Kubota discovering Erika’s self-insert fan fiction, leading all the characters to act out its contents. With five voice actors covering eight characters — including Pepperoni playing Anchovy and Rosehip playing Darjeeling — the cast themselves described it as “chaos that could only come from this particular combination.” The audience laughed throughout.

Live Music

Saki Sasaki performed “Grand Symphony” and ChouCho performed “Never Say Goodbye” — both opening themes from Girls & Panzer Finale. The two then joined forces for “Nonstop Daydream,” the opening theme of Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu!, with lyrics by Sasaki and music by ChouCho. Fuchigami closed the live segment with “Oyasuminasai no Tsuzuki Desu!,” the ending theme from Part 1, as the audience bathed the hall in pink “Anglerfish colors” and struck “LOVE” poses in time with the lyrics.

Sasaki revealed she had known the plot of Finale since 2017 and was overjoyed to finally be able to talk about it openly. Fuchigami laughed and said she’d stop there to avoid spoilers.

First Key Visual and Trailer for Girls & Panzer Finale Part 5

Toward the end of the event, the first key visual and first full trailer for Girls & Panzer Finale Part 5 were unveiled. The film is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on October 9, 2026.

Applause for Daichi Yo’s Triple Duty

In the closing remarks, Takamori noted it was her first time standing on stage as Rosehip and hoped the audience enjoyed the unusual situation of having fewer voice actors than characters. Daichi, who handled three roles, said: “I never imagined I’d have to speak as three characters all at once (laughs). I felt like I was being tested, so I gave it everything I had.” The audience responded with warm, appreciative applause.

Nabatame reflected that the unexpected cast combination created a special kind of fun precisely because their characters rarely interact in the main series. Kawasumi said backstage the group had agreed “with this lineup, we’re unbeatable,” and thanked the audience for the warm atmosphere. Fuchigami praised her fellow cast members for nailing the picture drama’s timing perfectly in the live performance despite some slips during rehearsal: “Nobody coordinated it afterward, but in the actual show everything lined up perfectly. Professionals are amazing.”

The event closed with a full sing-along of “Enter Enter MISSION!” featuring the entire on-stage cast, the Boko mascot, and the audience — followed by the series’ signature battle cry: “Panzer Vor!”
