The TV anime Shirotan has unveiled its main promotional video alongside the announcement of three additional cast members. Konomi Hanasaki will voice Rakkoinu, Rina Hidaka will voice Sheru, and Satoyo Iwai will voice Ramune.
Shirotan is based on the beloved harp-seal character that has been a staple of Japanese character merchandise since its creation in 1999. The series will serve as the debut production under PicoAni, TV Asahi’s new short-anime brand, and is scheduled to air every Saturday at 16:29 on TV Asahi starting October 2026.
The newly released main PV offers a glimpse into the warm, easygoing daily life of Shirotan — voiced by Yuki Aoi — alongside friends Rakkoinu, Sheru, and Ramune, capturing the gentle and heartwarming atmosphere the series aims to deliver.

I’ve been finding so much comfort in the soft, fluffy, and uplifting world of Shirotan. Rakkoinu is a sensitive, gentle, and bashful character, and I’ll do my very best to bring out all of his charm. Shirotan is a series that fills your heart with warmth and kindness. The curiosity of the characters and Shirotan’s positive words really lifted my spirits. I hope the show can be something that gently stays by everyone’s side — and gives them a little push when they need it.

Shirotan is a work overflowing with warmth and gentleness.
