Manga artist matoba has kicked off a brand-new serialization titled Eden no Tou: Ruruchika Kunya to Tou no Meikyuu (エデンの塔 ルルチカクーニャと塔の迷宮). Chapter 1 debuted in the September 2026 issue of Monthly Shonen Gangan, published by Square Enix and on sale from August 12.
Story: A Dying World and a Meeting in the Maze
The series is set in a kingdom born from a peace treaty between a Hero (勇者) and a Demon Lord (魔王), where humans and demon-kind have united into a single civilization. That peace is shattered when, half a year before the story begins, half of the world’s population suddenly dies — and the numbers keep falling.
Ruruchika, the sole survivor of her community, steps into a mysterious labyrinth that appeared four months ago. The same labyrinth swallowed the Hero and Demon Lord’s party whole when they ventured inside seeking a way to save humanity. Against all expectations, the labyrinth turns out to be a place of breathtaking beauty — and it is there that Ruruchika reunites with Kunya, the daughter of the Hero.
The series is described as a girl-meets-girl story set against a world on the brink of extinction.
