โปสเตอร์劇場版『進撃の巨人』前編~紅蓮の弓矢~ พร้อมฉายบน SCREENX & 4DX วันที่ 23 ตุลาคม

To celebrate the return of Attack on Titan the Movie: Part 1 – Crimson Bow and Arrow (Gekijōban Shingeki no Kyojin Zenpen: Guren no Yumiya) to SCREENX & 4DX & ULTRA 4DX screens on October 23, special interviews have been released with the three lead voice actors: Kaji Yuki (Eren Yeager), Ishikawa Yui (Mikasa Ackerman), and Inoue Marina (Armin Arlert).

About the Work

Attack on Titan is a dark-fantasy manga by Hajime Isayama, serialized in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from 2009 to 2021, with cumulative worldwide sales exceeding 140 million copies. The TV anime launched in 2013, concluding with The Final Season finale in November 2023. The film is a re-edited compilation of all 25 episodes of Season 1 (April–September 2013), originally released in 2014. Its theme song is “Guren no Zahyo” by Linked Horizon, with the ending theme handled by composer Hiroyuki Sawano.

Kaji Yuki (Eren Yeager)

When the film first opened 12 years ago, Kaji described Eren’s appeal in the program booklet as “his unwavering commitment to his own sense of justice, and the rage he directs at everything he sees as evil.” Asked whether that impression has changed after more than a decade with the character, he said:

“Back then I hadn’t even grasped half the story, so it’s incomparable to how I understand him now that everything is complete. The truths revealed later are the real essence of the work — and of Eren as a human being. That said, what I said 12 years ago is still part of him. He’s the biggest fool, the most deeply human — an ordinary kind of abnormal. He exists inside everyone.”

Asked about a memorable scene, Kaji pointed to the climactic sequence where Eren repeatedly shouts “Fight!” — a moment he says he still remembers vividly from the recording booth and that never fails to stir his blood. He also encouraged fans who already know the ending to revisit the film as a “checklist” for foreshadowing, imagining where Eren might be lurking just off-screen.

Ishikawa Yui (Mikasa Ackerman)

Twelve years ago, Ishikawa said Mikasa’s vulnerability was itself part of her charm. Reflecting now, she said:

“Having played her to the very end, I feel that Mikasa was able to stay strong because Eren was her guiding light. She grew strong to protect him, to live alongside him. Even after losing him, she would keep living with strength so as never to forget him. Being strong for someone you love — that’s genuinely cool.”

For newcomers to the franchise, Ishikawa said she couldn’t single out just one selling point because every department gave everything they had. Her advice: “Don’t look anything up — just go to the cinema completely blank and feel it. I’m sure it will shake your life to its core.”

Inoue Marina (Armin Arlert)

In the original 2014 program booklet, Inoue said she wanted Armin to come across as “pitifully human” while not forgetting his masculine side. Asked how her approach has evolved, she said:

“It has changed somewhat. Armin is an incredibly brave person. In his pursuit of the best possible outcome, he often had to discard certain aspects of his humanity. Looking back, that bravery of his feels almost superhuman.”

Her message to first-time viewers was characteristically direct: “This will absolutely change your life! Experience the ultimate despair and the preciousness of life!!!! (Just make sure your heart is in a good place before you watch ★)”

Additional Information

Full versions of all three interviews are available on the official anime website. It has also been announced that Attack on Titan: The Last Attack (Gekijōban Shingeki no Kyojin Kanketsuhen: THE LAST ATTACK) will screen on SCREENX & 4DX & ULTRA 4DX in 2027.
