OceanVeil announced on Monday that it will stream the television anime adaptation of KAMUI: He’s Behind You (Ushiro no Shōmen Kamui-san), based on the manga by author Eroki and artist Shinko Konoshiro, beginning July 3 at 9:30 a.m. PDT (12:30 p.m. EDT).
The series will premiere in Japan on Tokyo MX on July 3 at 25:30 (i.e., July 4 at 1:30 a.m. JST), followed by a broadcast on BS11 on July 7.
Story
Shizuka Mimizuka is a self-proclaimed “ordinary” high school girl with one extraordinary problem: her body acts as an irresistible magnet for ghosts and malevolent spirits. The famous psychic Kamui takes notice of her supernatural allure — and her lightning-fast running skills — and promptly hires her as his official assistant and live bait.
Kamui wields overwhelming spiritual power and looks like a heartthrob, but he hides a bizarre secret: he is only aroused by ghosts and apparitions. His methods of purifying the supernatural are utterly unprecedented, wildly intimate, and incredibly lewd. Can Shizuka ever achieve her dream of a normal school life while being dragged into one paranormal incident after another? The curtain rises on a “super” ecchi exorcism comedy!

Background
The anime is produced under WWWave Corporation’s Deregula anime label. WWWave also operates the ComicFesta web manga service and the AnimeFesta anime programming block.
Eroki and Konoshiro launched the manga in March 2020 on Shogakukan’s Manga ONE app. Shogakukan released the 12th compiled volume on February 19.
