The annual Tanabata Matsuri (七夕祭り) event for the anime Monogatari Series (〈物語〉シリーズ) is returning once again in 2026. The event will run from July 3 to 9, 2026, at the North Building 1F entrance lobby of Animate Ikebukuro Main Store in Tokyo.
Throughout the event period, visitors can view tanzaku (短冊) — traditional paper wish strips — bearing the wishes of characters, voice cast members, and series staff, as well as large character standing displays. The lobby walls will also be decorated in a special Monogatari Series theme for the occasion.
A range of newly drawn illustration merchandise featuring Araragi Karen (阿良々木火憐) and Araragi Tsukihi (阿良々木月火) dressed in yukata will also go on sale, including:
- Acrylic stands
- Clear files
- Random can badges
The event runs for one week only, making it a must-visit for fans of the series in the Tokyo area.
