นักแสดงจาก Sailor Moon – Shining Theater Shinagawa Tokyo ซีซัน 2 ในชุดเซเลอร์วอร์ริเออร์บนเวที

Season 2 of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon – Shining Theater Shinagawa Tokyo officially opened on 3 August at Shinagawa Prince Hotel Club eX in Tokyo. A preview performance was held ahead of the main run, and this review comes from a first-time theatregoer who went in with nerves — and came out completely hooked.

The New Enemy Is AI — and Social Media Is Already Talking

The show is a fully original story featuring all ten Sailor Warriors, running from April through November 2026. Season 1 (April–July) generated significant buzz online, with audience-captured footage praised for how faithfully the cast recreated the look and feel of the original characters.

Season 2 centres on an AI theme. Usagi and her friends are thrilled by a new Tokyo theme park powered by an AI that can create anything perfectly — until a mysterious villain, Queen Valsia, appears and uses that same AI technology to steal Usagi’s heart and alter the bodies of Mamoru, Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako. Chibiusa, Haruka, Michiru, Setsuna, and Hotaru sense the crisis and rise to fight, but even they fall before Queen Valsia’s flawless AI power. The central question — human or AI, what is true love? — drives the Sailor Warriors into their fiercest battle yet.

The production uses a double-cast format split between Team Gold Moon and Team Silver Moon. The preview performance featured Team Silver Moon.

Merchandise and Décor: Jewel-Like and Irresistible

Walking in as a complete theatre newcomer, the anxiety faded almost instantly. The lobby corridor leading to the auditorium is lined on both sides with merchandise that genuinely glitters like gemstones — moon-motif mugs, T-shirts, and blankets that feel nostalgic without being childish. The standout item is the fan light, available in 11 character colours with swappable top pieces.

The venue also displays new illustrations drawn by original creator Naoko Takeuchi, which are so striking that this reviewer stopped mid-step before even thinking to take a photo. Décor differs between the first and second floors, giving every corner its own moment. Character-themed original drinks and sweets are also on sale.

The Show and Live Segment: Even Newcomers Will Be Swept Away

Any lingering nerves evaporated the moment the cast appeared. Each performer looked as though they had stepped directly out of the original artwork. Costumes sparkled, characterisation was precise, and the choreography — both ensemble and individual — was sharp throughout. The scenes between Mamoru and Usagi were particularly beautiful. The story itself engages with contemporary themes around AI and authenticity in ways that give the audience genuine pause, before delivering a genuinely moving finale.

The show then transitions into a live segment, where filming and light-stick waving are permitted. Season 2 adds new songs to the set list; the preview performance included four numbers:

  • Moonlight Densetsu
  • Music of the Spheres
  • Solar Miracle Make Up
  • Brilliant Justice

During the live segment, the cast smiled, waved, and sent heart gestures to the audience in a continuous stream of fan service that had the whole room buzzing.

Season 2 Highlight: In-Person Gift Handoffs

A brand-new element this season sees cast members walk into the audience to hand gifts directly to fans. This reviewer received a gift personally from Super Sailor Pluto / Meiou Setsuna (played by Tamayama Juri), and moments later was on the receiving end of a flying kiss from Super Sailor Mercury / Mizuno Ami (played by Maruyama Sumire). The verdict: resistance is futile.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon – Shining Theater Shinagawa Tokyo Season 2 is a show that welcomes everyone — seasoned fans and complete newcomers alike — and leaves every single one of them with memories they will not forget. The run continues through November 2026.
